The artifacts included in this portfolio document my progress in meeting the Association for Educational Communications Technology (AECT) standards that are the foundation of the Educational Technology program at the University of South Carolina. The AECT, according to it's website, "is a professional association of thousands of educators and others whose activities are directed toward improving instruction through technology.[...] The Association has become a major organization for those actively involved in the designing of instruction and a systematic approach to learning," (2013).
Each course in the degree program directly addresses the AECT standards; each project and assignment is designed to give the student an opportunity to apply the standards in real-world or realistically simulated environments. In many courses the AECT standards are framed in reference to the ADDIE Instructional Design model, you will note references to both the standards and the model in the design and development artifacts. For more information about AECT standards and the ADDIE model, please visit the Resources page on this site. The AECT Standards have five major sections, the related standard and performance indicators are listed in each section. |
Slide Show of ArtifactsSlide show contains screenshots of artifacts, the AECT Standards, and the text from the Reflection by Standard. The portfolio artifact slide show is available via SlideShare.net. Last updated Spring 2013.
