Respect for creators rights is embedded in the collected papers which include appropriate citations. Context:In the Fall of 2011, I completed a series of research papers on the management of technology resources that included an evaluation of policies in my school district. The artifact is a link to three papers that discuss acceptable use of the internet and school intranet, technology procurement and replacement, and an evaluation of school/district technology plans.Conditions:The length and format of the paper were specified by the instructor. The selection of documents to evaluate was limited to those approved for public distribution and made available online.Scope:The artifacts are available on my website, some of the source documents for the items evaluated may no longer be available or applicable due to new board policies or removal from servers.Role:The evaluation papers were a solo project.Artifact 2
Creating Content Lesson: http://ccis.ccsdtitle1.org/creating-content/ Indicators3.4.3: The artifact documents identification and application of copyright and fair use guidelines.
Context:In the Fall of 2012, for the EDET 650 Internship I created a series of lessons to fulfill the Child Internet Safety Protection Act requirements, one of which is creator’s rights. The artifact is the development phase of a lesson on creator’s rights which will teach copyright and creative commons licensing. Currently the lesson consists of handouts for a face-to-face session and a supporting slideshow. Ultimately, the slideshow will be narrated and the evaluation components will be enhanced.Conditions:The internship required a proposal and use of the ADDIE design model, along with a minimum of 100 hours of work, all of which are documented on my website at www.shelbyesimmons.me/edet650.html. The project internship, as initially conceived, was too broad for the time constraints. I had a site supervisor for the internship, however, due to major surgery, she was available only once a week via phone for the last half of the project.Scope:The lesson will be available at the same link once the final lesson is complete, the lesson is not currently in use.Role:This represents a solo effort enhanced with evaluation by the internship coordinator and site supervisor.Artifact 3
